- Was there anything you didn't like?I stayed at Hotel Kung Carl in Stockholm in January. I was traveling alone and was given a single room with no heating. Considering the winter weather and snow outside, this was quite uncomfortable. After reporting the issue, the staff provided a portable heater. Unfortunately, it was noisy, vibrated constantly, and initially blew cold air. I was asked to wait for it to warm up, but it never did. Only after this was I moved to another room with proper heating. The hotel promotes a Belle Époque style, but for a four-star hotel this feels more like outdated interiors rather than historical charm. I will not comment on the rooms décor I saw — perhaps single rooms are not meant to be decorated. On the positive side, the hotel has an excellent location and very good breakfasts. Overall, the Belle Époque period for Hotel Kung Carl seems to be over, and proper renovation would be appropriate for a four-star property.
