- Was there anything you didn't like?The ceiling in our bathroom fell down during the night. Originally dismissing this as a standard for comically overpriced/bad accommodations in the city, it was actually pretty dangerous and we were lucky it didn't happen shortly before, when one of us was using the shower. We were handed keys to a different room. There was no further mention of the incident from staff until we brought it up when checking out. We were advised at that point that we should settle any disputes/requests for refunds with booking.com directly, but booking.com cannot do anything unless the hotel responds directly to their emails about the incident. I have also emailed the hotel four times about the incident and they have not answered a single email. In short, I have paid less to stay in better (and safer) hotels in NYC, and wouldn't recommend the Shoreham. *Update: The response below, from the hotel, is the first acknowledgement of the incident that I have received. Would appreciate it if you responded to one of my four emails/personal messages on booking.
