Our incidental hold is $100 per night. The incidental hold is released upon checkout. The system will hold the funds until check out, before it gets released. The original authorization amounts may take up to 30 days after departure to be released by your bank or financial institution, depending on the type of card you have used. Debit and international cards tend to take longer to be released, however, I can confirm that domestic credit cards get released quicker by their financial institution. Each financial institution/bank has its own rules and regulations for this delay in the release of the funds. International cards and Debit cards do tend to take longer than credit cards to release.       The room maintenance is poor. Several items clearly need replacing or upgrading, which detracts from the overall standard you would expect. What has led me to give such a low rating, though, is the rudeness and attitude of the supervisor/manager on the evening of 14th February when we arrived. Upon arrival, I politely asked the (very friendly but clearly exhausted) receptionist — who was working alone — if I could please have a receipt or written acknowledgment for the unexpected $500 incidental damage deposit. I explained that I needed proof for my credit card company to ensure the charge was not flagged as fraudulent. I was told this was something they “couldn’t do.” I even offered to write the note myself and simply have it signed. The receptionist said she would speak to her manager. A few minutes later, the manager/supervisor came out with another man standing behind her who never introduced himself. Neither wore name tags. From the outset, the attitude was dismissive. I was told that if I did not pay the deposit, my booking would be cancelled. I made it very clear that I had never refused to pay — I was simply asking for written acknowledgment for banking purposes. Despite this, she repeatedly refused to assist in any way, simply stating, “I cannot do that.” This was particularly concerning after reading numerous reviews mentioning issues with incidental deposits not being returned. Meanwhile, the charge had blocked a significant amount on my credit card, and I had to spend the first two hours of my holiday purchasing a U.S. phone number and speaking with my credit card company to resolve the matter. This was not how I expected to begin my vacation. On 18th February, I also witnessed the same supervisor behave rudely toward another group of guests waiting for the elevator. They were pressing the button after waiting a long time, and she came out to reprimand them, telling them off for pressing it repeatedly.
